A pair of Chinese antique hand painted flat porcelain plates with Guangxu Marks. Offered here is a lot of two Chinese porcelain small, flat, hand painted plates made in the late 19th century. The plates are beautifully crafted and hand-painted; outlined in fine, gilded detailing against the blue and white porcelain backdrop. The Outer rim is edged with a debossed pattern that has a wonderful texture with a lovely in-hand feel as the reverse side is embossed with the same pattern along with overlaying details.
The plates are of an especially heavy, reinforced design. The porcelain within each tiny embossed leaf is thinner than the rest of the plate; wonderfully hand detailed this way so that when held up to the light they become translucent and the leaves glow a sky blue that can be seen on both sides of the plate.
They are in very good condition. There are tiny glazing nicks on the edges of the rims, a common characteristic in antique porcelain with very little wear. The colors are vibrant and crisp and the glaze has remained perfectly glossy despite its age. Please refer to the photos to carefully assess. On the backside are Guangxu Markings, written in Chinese indicating the dynastic period. The item offered is guaranteed authentic and as described. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog.
