EXCEPTIONALLY FINE ANTIQUE SATSUMA BOWL. Presenting a stunning antique Japanese Satsuma bowl in the highly appealing 1000 butterflies pattern.

This exceptional piece has been masterfully handpainted with an exceptionally fine and intricate 1000 butterflies design executed in strikingly vibrant colours. The elegantly shaped form is profusely decorated with a stunning array of small butterflies to both the interior and exterior of the bowl. The butterflies have been rendered in beautiful tones of red, blue, pink, yellow, purple and green. Each element of the design is elegantly accented with sparkling gilt gold detailing.

The stylishly curved lotus-shaped rim is trimmed in gilt gold, while a handpainted rope twist border rendered in gilt gold upon red trims the base of the bowl. This elegant piece stands upon a squat foot which slightly elevates the form allowing it to be appreciated from every angle. SIZE: This stunning example stands approx 43mms tall and measures 95mms in diameter at its widest. CONDITION: This superb Japanese Satsuma bowl is presented in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The handpainted design remains wonderfully rich and vibrant and the body is clean and stain free.
