C1720, MATCHING PAIR ANTIQUE 18thC QING KANGXI CHINESE BLUE & WHITE TEA BOWLS
C1720, MATCHING PAIR ANTIQUE 18thC QING KANGXI CHINESE BLUE & WHITE TEA BOWLS. A matching pair of antique Chinese blue and white tea bowls, dating to the 18th Century Kangxi period, circa 1720.
The exterior of both bowls are. Hand decorated in underglaze blue with suspended scrolling tendrils around the upper rim, and interlocking rings and swags around the lower section, leading down to a single ring around the slightly raised foot. The interior is decorated with a double ring within the upper rim, and a flower like auspicious symbol within the centre. The bases, with unglazed foot rim, are not marked. 4.1 cm or 1 5/8 inches.
Cm or 2 7/8 inches. Combined Weight: 82.7 grams.
The first has only minor nibbles around the upper rim. The other has slightly more signs of age with similar nibbles to the upper rim and the foot, and two manufacturing firing faults to the upper rim.
