Chinese Porcelain Trio , Tea Bowl, Coffee Cup and Saucer Gilded and Hand Painted Blue and White Emerging Boat Pattern Qianlong. A lovely set of antique Chinese hand painted blue and white export porcelain, a hard paste porcelain trio, decorated in the "emerging boat pattern" that was later copied by the New Hall porcelain company of Shelton, Hanley, Staffordshire, England. The trio consists of a tea bowl, coffee cup and saucer all decorated in hand painted Chinese under-glaze blue and each has been gilded in the United Kingdom after it was imported circa 1780.

We can tell that the gilding was done here as the tea bowl has a gilder's mark, an arabic number 2 on the base. This type of gilding is sometimes referred to as clobbering.

This set dates from the reign of the Emperor Qianlong. During the King George III period in England. They are all plain smooth bodied with the same pattern on each and a complex diaper and cartouche border pattern on the inner rims of each. They are in very good antique condition, They all have some fritting. The saucer has some gilding runs on the outer rim, The tea bowl has a crack to the rim, the saucer has a restored chip to the rim and a chip to the footrim. Tea bowl height 1 7/8 inches (4.7 cm) Tea bowl diameter 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm) Coffee cup height 2 1/2 inches (6.3 cm) Coffee cup diameter 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm) Saucer height 1 5/16 inches (3.3 cm) Saucer diameter 5 inches (12.7 cm) Total weight 283 grammes unpacked.
