KPM Cup Saucer Porcelain Berlin Portrait Ram Head Hand Painted Antique 19th C
Exquisite 19th Century Berlin KPM Portrait Cup & Saucer titled "Escort meine Schwester" (Escorting my Sister) which is seen written below the Portrait in the Gilding on the Cup. The Man is holding a Dagger above his head as the woman clings to him. Their eyes are diverted as if watching for trouble. There are Mountains and Buildings in the background so we believe they are traveling. The Gilded Handle is a profile of a Ram Head... Blue Underglaze on the bottom is the KPM mark as you can see in our photos.
The saucer has also has an impressed number 28 and 2 small parallel bars. The cup has a partial impressed number 2.
Cup measures: 4" high including handle and 2 7/8" high without handle. Saucer measures: 5 3/4 diameter. In excellent condition showing minor wear to the gilding on the cup and the saucer as expected for its age. No chips, No cracks, No repairs.
