This is another of my late mum's remarkable collection of chinese and japanese antiquities. The plate measures a large 11 inches diameter, and is decorated with hand painted human figures. A chinese historian and collector kindly informed that this plate came from the dynasty of china's greatest emperor, from the early 1700s, and the figures painted on it are drama figures, actors in costume who performed for his entertainment : i have had a lot of interest in this item privately from chinese buyers. I don't need to add anything, the photos say it all, and it is ofcourse fully marked on the base with the kangxi mark of that period : ps: you might have noticed that there is a hand written label on the back of the plate saying 1600's.This was how i inherited it from my late mother, and the label was her own : i have since had the plate assessed by a top auctioneer, who says there is a faint chance it could be late 1600's, but in all honesty, more likely to be early 1700's, according to my chinese historian. The item "Late 1700's chinese kangxi plate, 11 inches diameter, fully marked on base" is in sale since Sunday, February 2, 2020.
