Circa 1770s incredibly rare Liverpool (Christian) porcelain cream jug that dates back to the Georgian era and features a ribbed body and double scroll handle, and is hand painted with a floral spray and scattered sprigs, with a dark blue border a hand painted gold gilt net-like pattern has been formed. Measurements: The jug is just under 10cm tall at its longest point (including the handle) and measures approximately 8cm at the widest part.
The underside is 5cm in diameter. It is in excellent condition for it's considerable age, with the odd natural and firing marks and a slight blue mark that also likely occurred during production. There are no chips, cracks or repairs and the inside of the jug is in striking condition for its age, with only some small spots of discolouration and natural firing marks, - there appears to be slight/tiny loss of paint on one of the leaves, at the base are expected markings of wear and tear, - so please view the pictures closely for the full condition of this very special piece.
