Chinese Peranakan blue-ground gaiwan lidded tea bowl. Bowl 4" or 10.5 cm wide and 2½" or 6.25 cm tall.

Late 19th century (Guangxu period). Beautifully decorated in overglaze enamels depicting lotus flowers and bats, with gilding to rim. Meant for export to Southeast Asia. Stamped, square-seal, two-character Tongzhi mark in overglaze red to base and lid. Small area of flaking to blue enamel.
