Antique 1865-77 Schierholz porcelain handled, footed Floral Bowl with Cherub, hand painted. This is a beautiful antique porcelain bowl created by Schierholz of Germany. Schierholz is probably best known for their beer steins. But they produced many beautiful decorative household pieces. This floral bowl has an impressed number, perhaps a pattern number, it is No. The blue Schierholz makers mark is placed over this impressed number. This makers mark was used by Schierholz during the 1907 -1927 time period.

This beautiful piece has clusters of flowers at the rim where the handle attaches. The bowl is hand painted, and there are gold lustre accents on the scroll work along the lip, handle, and the tops of the feet. This piece is in very good condition, but there are some issues (see pictures provided) the most noticeable flaw being the the Cherubs broken bow (your heart is safe from this one).

There are some broken petals but you must look very closely to find them. One leaf looks to have had some repair work done on it. Even with the small flaws this piece is still a very wonderful example of the works created by the artisans at Schierholz.
