ANTIQUE 19thC ORNATE CHINESE LIDDED 2 HANDLED CERAMIC JAR OR TUREEN

  

Two handed footed tureen, jar or container with lid and two handles. White ceramic hand painted with blue sections to create four panels around the item and around the top rim with a scale effect. The four panels show social scenes of people spending time together. It has two beautiful irregular shaped handles and hand painted lid with mushroom type finial at an angle with brown accents. The item is raised on a footed base geometrically hand painted in blue and blueish purple.

It's absolutely beautiful and would have taken a long time to make and complete the decoration. Its 19th century, probably the latter half.
