Antique Chin Famille Rose Cream Jug & Lid, Qing Dynasty Qianlong Period

  
This antique, 18th century, Chinese Export porcelain cream jug with its lid, comes from what is known as the Chien Lung period in China. The cream jug is made in the classic melon shape with what is known as a sparrow beak.

The delightful and classical pattern of sprigs of rose, pink flowers, known as Famille Rose pattern, and the vivid puce and pink diaper border, always make an appealing jug. This is why the West loved importing this precious ware. The colours are still unfaded and much of the jug is in good condition. The lid also has had restoration.

It measures 6" (15cm) high and from the jug's belly to the handle it is 4" (10cm) wide and its diameter is 1 ½ (3.5cm). Although there has been restoration on this piece, (my price reflects this) it is still a very lovely, desirable piece of Chinese Export ware and a lovely addition to any collection.
