This is decorated with Aquilegia which were called'grandmothers bonnet'. This is in excellent condition. It also has the retailers mark - James Green & Nephew, London they were exporters. James Hadley porcelain wares had a distinctive clay mouldings in either dark green (as this is) or alternatively in dark blue or brown. Distinctive softly painted flowers were used to decorate these porcelain wares.

This has the later backstamp with the banner under Hadleys containing Worcester England (Goddens 1873). Royal Worcester had taken Locke & co and James Hadley to court to try and stop them using the word Worcester in their titles. Hence the use of the banner with Worcester England as this is where these items were made and it was no longer in the title. Diameter 26cm x 23cm / 10¼" x 9". Height 12.5cm / 5 inches.

Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Has a nice ring when gently tapped.
