Napoleon III French Sevres Table Lamp, circa 1870. A large and fine example of a French Napoleon III 19th century table lamp comprising of finely hand painted Sevres porcelain and ormolu mounts. The slender ovoid body with a hand painted vignette depicts a finely dressed lady releasing a bird from a cage within a rural scene encased within a gilt rim and set against a bleu celeste background. To the reverse, a large hand painted bouquet of flowers encased within a further gilt rim decorates this large and impressive lamp. The whole raised on a pierced and scrolled ormolu base featuring beaded decoration and flanked by two chiselled bronze rams heads.

Comes complete with a cream coloured pleated shade. 58 cm high x 24 cm wide.

25 cm high x 43 cm wide. Overall, the lamp is in very good condition.

The ormolu is in good condition and retains a good colour. This converted Sevres lamp has been electrified for modern usage, however, please note that the wiring must be removed and rewired to meet modern standards. Please study the pictures and ask any questions that you may have.
