Antique Naples Capodimonte Porcelain Cup And Saucer
DESCRIPTION : Here is a decorative late 19th century or possibly early 20th century Naples, Capodimonte porcelain cup and saucer. The cup with relief moulded scene of a man driving a chariot being pulled by two horses with clouds of dust. There is a tapered monument, two figures and a tree stump which are also relief moulded and hand painted. The handle of the cup is in the form of entwined white and gilt branches that terminates on each side with two leaves. The saucer relief moulded and hand painted with pink roses with green leaves and typical Italian motifs.
Both cup and saucer with a gilt dentil pattern to the top rims, with the cup having gilt flower sprigs to the inside. Each pieces is marked to the base with a blue crowned N. SIZE : The cup measures 6 cm high and 7 cm in diameter. The saucer measures 12.3 cm in diameter. Weighs 205 g before packing.
CONDITION : The cup and saucer have no chips, cracks or restoration. The saucer does have scratches in the glaze that appear to be in the manufacture.
