Antique pair of Samson porcelain figurines modelled as Autumn and Winter. Data is circa 1880, made in Paris France.

These Samson figurines are modelled after Derby originals, each are raised on rococo style bases edged in puce and turquoise. The autumn figuring is modelled as woman carrying a cornucopia with cut flowers and grapes and under her other arm is a sheaf of wheat. The winter figuring is modelled as a man holding pot with flames on top of a pile of logs to his feet is a bird surrounded by flames. They are both beautifully detailed and are hand painted, both being signed with an applied gold crown to the back. What is nice are there feet which shows just dirty toes. Condition is very good, the woman has losses to the flowers in the cornucopia and flower petals at her feet, the man has losses to the fire around the bird and flower petals at his feet. No other form of damage or restoration has been detected.

Generally good condition with small faults and restorations as outlined in item condition note. They measure 22 cm tall, they stand on a base 11 cm by 8 cm.
