This serving piece originally belonged to the great-grandmother of the previous owner, an ethnic Romanian who lived in Hungary before World War 1. We do not know the precise location of this piece's manufacture and the region may have been ceded to the Kingdom of Romania following the war. Hence, it could have been produced in Romania or in the Kingdom of Hungary when it was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
