Chinese porcelain handpainted famille rose enamelled tea pot & cover warriors

  

Chinese famille rose tea pot with cover decorated with warriors. Stunning Chinese porceline, it is very attractive square bodied teapot with hand painted famille rose decoration to each panel of flowers in pots and couples in traditional dress, the top of the tea pot has flowers in each corner and has metal swivel handles, it also comes with its lid which has a single flower. Now if that isn't enough the tea pot comes with its own separate porceline cover which accommodates the tea pot, the cover also four panels each being decorated with hand painted Chinese warriors on horse back.

Both the tea pot and cover rest on four corner feet. The condition of the tea pot cover is good, there is basic restoration applied to the top edge of the panels where it has been broken, this is shown in the photos and I can supply more if required. The cover should have two handles with corner fixtures, however only one is present. The condition of the tea pot is good, the body is intact, one corner on the top of the tea pot has been restored which has darkened over time, 2 of the corner feet have small chips. The tea pot spout is excellent and both porceline handle holders are intact with their metal handles. The tea pot lid has been heavily restored, the tea pot is original however the base in which it resides has been fully replaced and has darkened over time. I have been mention the above for completeness and the photos do help, having said all this and it was important do so the tea pot and cover do display very well and the scenes on the panels are of excellent quality. In my opinion it would be worth improving some of the restoration. Measure approx 16cm in height from the bottom of the cover to the top of the tea pot lid, cover is 10cm square.

The tea pot is 14.5cm heigh from the bottom of the tea pot to the top of the tea pot lid, the tea pot body is 6.8cm square. There is no makers mark to any of the pieces.
