Coalport Coalbrookdale Rococo Revival Vase with Applied Flowers, ca. 1830

  

For your consideration is an antique Coalport Coalbrookdale Rococo Revival double swan handled vase with applied flower decoration, circa 1830. Exquisitely hand painted and detailed, the body is finished in a bright robins egg blue glaze and is lavished with gilded enhancements. A piece of lovely proportion and stature, the vase stands approximately 8" in height and measures 7" at its widest point. Both sides display a hand decorated floral cameo panel. The rich detailing and floral decorations continue to the interior of the vase.

In overall beautiful heirloom condition, the main body of the vase is absent of chips, cracks, crazing, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections. Expected minor loss and chipping is present to the delicate applied flowers and leaves, which is typical and commonly seen to the elaborate designs on Coalbrookdale pieces of this era.

The stem on one side is broken. None of these imperfections are major, immediately noticeable, nor do they detract from the incredible beauty of the vase.
