Ignáce Fischer was introduced to ceramic manufacturing at his father's factory in Tata-Tóváros. After working for Mór Fischer, a distant relative, at Herend, Ignác Fischer established his own pottery operation in Pest, Hungary, in 1864. Initially, Ignác concentrated on decorating blanks from other potteries.
He began producing his own pottery in 1867. Fischer specialised in the production of ornamental decorative ceramics. His majolica wares soon attracted worldwide attention.
Fischer's Chinese-motif pieces were well reviewed when exhibited at the 1883 Hungarian Exposition. The Austro-Hungarian court granted Ignác the right to use the title von Fischer. Ignáce was succeeded by his son Emil around 1885.Fischer experienced financial difficulties under Emil's leadership. Zsolnay eventually acquired the company in 1895. Thanks for purchasing my product.
