Large Antique Victorian Porcelain Doll's Head with Black Hair. This is a lovely large antique Victorian porcelain moulded doll's head. It is 8 inches high and 5 wide at the base. It dates to anout 1890. There are 3 holes in the front and back for attaching to a doll's body. Has number #16 inside head.. The head is probably of German origin but the interior marking has not been identified. The face shows great attention to detail with hand painted blue eyes, coral lips, rosy cheeks and black painted short curly hair. The condition is good with no cracks, splits, damage or restoration. There is also some typical small spots where the hair color has been lost through age but which can easily be touched up. I have owned this doll for 39 years.
