A beautiful late 19th century hand painted tea tray in mauve. A substantial piece at 41cm square.
Painted and gilded with the initial B beneath a coronet. A purple ground with with and grey ribbon to the rim. Originally part of a tete-a-tete set.
Although the tray is unmarked the other matching pieces were marked for Lerosey. At the time this tray was produced Lerosey was situated at 11 Rue de la Paix, Paris. This is a charming piece and although it has been broken it has been lovingly restored and the historic restoration is visible in the photographs. It does however display beautifully.
