A Huge Antique Chinese Porcelain Vase or Jar Lid. A beautiful and high quality lid, from the 19th century and richly hand-decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. This is a very large lid, suitable as a replacement for your vase or jar, with similar floral decoration.

Very hard to find like this. Please check the dimensions and decoration to ensure this is a suitable match. A good quality lid, waiting to find a good quality jar.

The inner diameter of the inner flange is approx 20.3 cms. Approx 20.5 cms high overall, including the finial. There is an old repair - a c. 10cm section to the rim away and reglued, as clearly shown. There is the potential to make a much cleaner job of this repair and make better.

Also a much smaller chip away c. 0.5 cms and also an area of surface imperfection to the rim (surface firing fault).

There is a small hole to the underside edge of the large knob finial (this may be an intentional hole to prevent blow out during firing). The underside is generally good, with some kiln grit fused to the inside edge of the flange. Very typical for 19th century firings.
