PAIR OF VASES, PORCELAIN, 12.5, COALPORT, ENGLAND COBALT BLUE, GILDED. Height 12-1/2 inches, diameter of base 2-3/4 inches. Rare pair of vases, lavishly decorated in the Aesthetic Japanese style. Dark cobalt blue ground with a mirror finish, richly decorated with gold leaves and branches.

With a border, a collar and a foot border of raised gilded flowers and a band of the same flowers running from the top border to the base on either side. One panel on each vase is further decorated with a raised enamel bird in natural colors. Mark ; Crown over Coalport and A. 1750, the founding date of the factory ; and the Model # A6371.

Condition: vase 1; neck chip has invisible restoration. Vase 2; restored two neck chips and touch up to the gilding at the. Rim and down one vertical panel.
