Qing Dynasty Caishen God of Wealth Seated on Tiger Chinese Porcelain Statue

  

Exceptionally finely modelled and enamelled Chinese porcelain statue of Caishen, the God of Wealth. He is seated on a tiger, with a gold bar in his left hand and what would have been a sword in his right. About 11 1/4 inches tall, 8 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches deep.

Made during the Qing Dynasty with a thick base (about 3/8 inches thick). About 2.1 kg in weight. This figurine is exceptional in many regards, from the wonderfully expressive tiger's face, to the exeptional quality of the enamel decoration. Look at the decoration on the shoes for example, complete with masks at the ankles.

Look at the folds in his robe, and how the dragon on his back is partially revealed. This is the best example I've seen. Very good condition, with his right hand restuck at the wrist. Otherwise fine, with no chips, cracks or repairs. He would have had a beard and a sword at home time inserted into the holes at those locations.
