A Very Fine Pair of Rare Antique Chinese Porcelain Lobed / Ribbed Dishes. Date: 18th Century (Qianlong period), circa 1775 - 1785.
Exquisitely painted in underglaze blue with a depicting a river landscape and a two-storied house on an island and fishermen by their nets. Surrounded by a beautiful and complex border of interlaced panels and cell diaper. For an identical example, see Howard and Ayres, Volume One, Plate 46. For a single example, see Rob Michiels, lot 359 2015-10-12 (pictured). Lynn Greenwold Antiques, Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire, UK (see price labels dating to the early 1990's).Both measure approx 24.5 cms in diameter. Plate 1: with a chip to the underside rim (the size of which, as shown with the measure). Very minor nibbling and glaze fritting to other areas of the underside edge (very insignificant).
Also a very, very minor c. 1 cm hairline to the underside edge - barely visible and would bleach out to nothing. Plate 2: A few minor nibbles and glaze fritting to the underside edge.
Despite the above flaws (and I have been very critical) both dishes display beautifully from the front and represent very worthwhile additions to any Qianlong period / export collection. All items are packed with care, to a high standard and sent via tracked and signed for courier. Arrived on time and as described. If I could leave a million stars, I would. SUPERB: accurately described, well packed and sent quickly - highly recommended!IF THERE WAS A SCORE HIGHER THAN 5 STARS THIS EBAYER WOULD DESERVE IT A++++. Superb communication, very honest and helpful.
