Sevres is widely known to be the finest French porcelain. Completely handpainted, these plates have bands of royal blue (bleu de roi) and gilt. The center has a hand painted floral spray of roses, morning glories, etc. The rim has gilt framed cartouches with floral sprays within. MARKING: each plate is marked with the typical Sevres marking of interlaced "L"s in script.

In the middle of the interlaced L's is the letter B and below them is the letter A. I have to go to the library to figure out the age of the plates. CONDITION: Minor wear to gilt.

One plate has an extremely small and SHALLOW rim chip only on the face (does not show on the back of the plate)... Another plate has a very small chip on the rim and a spider crack emanating from it... Shown in pictures #3 and #8. My finger points to the two, very small chips. SIZE: 9" in diameter, 1.25" tall...

These plates are a little deeper than we are used to today. THESE PLATES ARE NOT RETURNABLE FOR ANY REASON.
